Highland Clans

The Highland Clans were one of the groupings of S'kytri clans that ruled the planet Skye. The Highlanders and Lowlanders combined made up two-thirds of Skye's population. They inhabited the Highlands region of Skye where they lived in mountaintop cities and citadels. The governing body of the Highland Clans was the Supreme Council of the Highland Clans. The Highland and Lowland Clans took turns governing Skye by voting a member of their respective strata to the office of Patriarch every forty-two years. For many years, the Highland, Lowland, and Outland Clans lived in relative peace and depended on each other economically. At the start of the Clone Wars Klarymére was the Lord of the Highland Clans and the Patriarch of Skye. It was during his reign that the mad genetic terrorist Zeta Magnus arrived on Skye and transformed the Outlanders into a mutant army and turned them against the other clans. The Highland Clans, dependent on the Outland Clans for agricultural products, began to decline due to starvation and attacks from the Outlanders. When a team of Jedi arrived to free Skye from Zeta Magnus, the Highland and Lowland Clans united to drive the scourge from their world. In the ensuing battle, the Highlanders suffered an untold number of casualties. Following the death of Klarymére, Aragh became Patriarch of the Highland Clans. Following the Clone Wars, Skye would be oppressed by Kharys, a former Highlander who was trained as a Dark Jedi by Darth Vader and appointed as the Majestrix of Skye. The Supreme Council of the Highland Clans would lead a group of rebels to her castle where Luke Skywalker would defeat her and free the S'kytri from the Empire.
