Holo-suns were holographic illumination devices used during the High Republic Era that produced hazy blue light. At some point no earlier than 379 BBY, the throne hall of the starship known as the Gaze Electric was lit by holo-suns and holo-torches when the ship's owner Marda Ro—the Evereni founder of a group of pirates who would eventually become the Nihil—met the Evereni siblings Vika and Velya Faer in the hall.
Later, Ro mentioned the holo-suns in a journal entry she recorded for her descendants. By 252 BBY, during his youth, Ro's great-great-grandson Marchion Ro had listened to her chronicles, including the entry where holo-suns were mentioned.
