The Holocron of Destiny was a hologram that had been previously been used by the Jedi Order. According to Darth Vader, the holocron had previously been used to train Jedi Apprentices and would challenge the wielder to understand the ways of the Force. It also asked a set of questions during a trek throughout the galaxy by using stored memories, and was reputed to, upon all questions being answered, decide the destiny of the wielder within the Force.
The Holocron of Destiny was a bonus reward item for players who had completed the Empire Strikes Back 30th Anniversary Weekly Item collections in Star Wars Galaxies. It acted as a questionnaire for the player that would, depending on the questions, determine the player's alignment as a lightsider, a darksider, or neutral. There were ten questions, each one being supplied upon traveling to the designated planet, excluding Kashyyyk and Mustafar. Upon completing the questionnaire, the player will either receive a set of instructions for a Yoda costume (Light Side), a set of instructions for a Boba Fett costume (Neutral) or a set of instructions for a Darth Vader costume (Dark Side), and the Holocron of Destiny will be permanently removed from the player's inventory.
