A horizontal booster was part of the hyperdrive on the Millennium Falcon. As Han Solo was trying to escape Imperial Star Destroyers in the aftermath of the Battle of Hoth, the hyperdrive motivator malfunctioned. Solo and Chewbacca went into the rear of the ship to check the system, including its horizontal boosters and the alluvial damper.
