Imbats were a very large and bulky species, towering over 2.5 meters. Their legs were thick and muscled, with toes capable of grasping. They possessed disproportionately small heads with long, drooping ears. Their skin was leathery and tough.

Offworld Corp. purchased a shipment of the beings from a Toydarian named Norta, and used them to guard the Ionite mines on Bandomeer. In 43 BBY, One individual also worked on Coruscant as a bartender at the Splendor Tavern. Another of his kind was seen taking his place fourteen years later.
