The planet of Gall in the Outer Rim is under attack by Separatists. Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, and Republic forces are on the ground, trying to blast down incoming droid ships - to no avail. The ships are completely shrugging off all their attacks. A Republic sergeant speculates that it's hopeless, as long as the lead ship continues to generate their current shield - while they can not destroy the ship, the droids are free to fire at will at them. Skywalker tells him that they are not truly defenseless, with the Jedi present. Tano questions this as they run, stating that their ships are still being refueled, to which Skywalker responds that they will not be using their ships.
Instead, the two of them reappropriate a pair of jet-wings used on-planet for spraying fertilizer. Tano questions Skywalker's judgement, but he says it is their only way of avoiding the sensors to get through the shield. The two successfully make it aboard the ship, but after they disembark from their ships, the jet-wings are destroyed, leaving Tano wondering how they will make it back down. Making their way to the shield generator, Skywalker and Tano pass rows of deactivated battle droids. Skywalker reassures Tano that the ship must have diverted all power to the shield, as experimental models often use a great deal of power.
Tano and Skywalker begin to set charges around the generator, while speculating about the nature of the shields. Skywalker asks Tano if she thinks it looks Geonosian in nature, and she states that it seems too advanced to be their technology. Skywalker says they can worry about whoever created it later. They place the remainder of the charges, and set them on a five minute timer. The countdown has begun when Tano notices a red light blinking on a console near the shield generator, and asks Skywalker if it had been on earlier. The two of them are ambushed by battle droids and draw their lightsabers to meet them in combat, all while the timer continues to tick down. Skywalker tells Tano to head for the airlock, and that they will be able to make it before the timer's conclusion.
They continue to press forwards against the clock. However, Tano calls out that there are too many droids and too far to go - there are twenty-two seconds left on the timer, and they still are not near the airlock. Skywalker takes a few seconds to think, before suddenly being inspired. He tells Tano that they cannot go through the battle droids, and so their course of action should be to mimic womp rats from Tatooine, which burrow into the sand to escape predators. Having said this, he begins cutting into the floor below him with his lightsaber, calling to Ahsoka to follow him. With one second left until detonation, they carve through the bottom of the ship and begin to fall.
As the ship explodes above them, the two of them see R2-D2, piloting Skywalker's starfighter, Tano's following behind him. Skywalker calls to Tano to use the Force to slow their descent, and the two of them land safely in the cockpits of their fighters. Skywalker states that with the shield down, the planetary defenses will be able to take out the rest of the ships. Tano asks him if he thinks they saved the moon, and he concludes that they just might have.
