The personnel of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force bore the insignia on the shoulder patches of their uniforms during the Great Galactic War and subsequent Cold War. Another version of the insignia was in use during the Order of Zildrog campaign.
During the Yuuzhan Vong War in 28 ABY, Commander Hess'irolia'nuruodo of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet bore the insignia on her uniform.
