The ship had had many owners and users through the years, some of which had not been good at maintaining it, resulting in its poor state. The living quarters were uncomfortable and spartan.
The ship was placed under the command of a group of Rebel prospectors who were sent to Taloraan to find an alternative source of tibanna gas, now that Bespin had fallen under Imperial command. Jackpot was destroyed in a Taloraanian atmospheric storm, but its crew were saved by the friendly Taloraanian tribe known as the Denfrandi.
