The Kamino tube system was a system of submarine tunnels that ran underneath the oceans of the planet Kamino, connecting various structures. Spherical orbs were able to occupy small groups and traveled through the tubes in a one-way fashion to its destination. The surface was constructed with transparent glass-like material, allowing passengers to observe the surrounding sea life.
One of the entrances to the system could be accessed from a secret landing platform that was hidden below the surface of the ocean just outside of Tipoca City. In 19 BBY, Tech, Wrecker, Echo, and Omega, who were part of the rogue clone squad, Clone Force 99, used the platform to land on Kamino without being detected by the Empire. With Omega's inside knowledge of the former clone medical assistant in Tipoca City, the squad used the tubes to get into the city in hopes of rescuing their captured teammate, Hunter.
After the Galactic Empire's bombardment of Tipoca City, parts of the city sank and collided with the tube system. This caused problems for Clone Force 99, Crosshair, and AZI-3, who were trying to use the tubes to return to their ship, the Marauder. As they traveled through the tube, the transparisteel canopy above them began to crack. The tube was then attacked by a Kamoradon Sea Dragon, which bit onto the powerless tube system. AZI-3 attempted to restore power in hopes of driving the creature away. The clones attempted to climb up into the collapsing structure, but the exterior was breached and watrer began flowing into the tube. AZI-3 managed to briefly restore power which electrocuted the sea monster, causing it to swim away.
The tube system first appeared in the episode "Return to Kamino," the fifteenth episode of the first season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
