The Kashyyyk Troopers were class of stormtroopers deployed to Kashyyyk during the Empire's second invasion of Kashyyyk in 18 BBY. The troopers were ordered to the planet alongside Darth Vader in order to wipe out Wookiee resistance and to find former Jedi and Order 66 survivor, Kento Marek.
These troopers wore unique helmets during the battle, utilizing the base design of Stormtrooper armor while having a visor design more similar to that of the Phase II clone trooper armor from the year prior.
In 18 BBY, Imperial forces were deployed to the planet Kashyyyk in order to locate and eliminate Jedi Knight Kento Marek. Soon after arrival Darth Vader's shuttle arrived, being greeted by their commanding officer. During this meeting many Kashyyyk troopers can be seen fighting and subsequently dying around Lord Vader's position. As the battle continued Vader found his way to Kento Marek's hut accompanied by two Kashyyyk troopers. These troopers were force pushed by Marek and killed. Vader then confronted and duelled Marek, with Vader eventually winning the fight. Just before killing Marek, Vader was alerted to his son, Galen Marek. Sensing the force in him Vader killed Kento and took Galen to secretly train. Just then the Imperial commander, alongside three Kashyyyk Troopers, entered the room and see the boy. The imperial commander ordered the troopers to fire on the boy, however, wanting to protect the boy and keep his identity a secret, Vader killed the commander and the troopers before Galen's eyes.
Their armor was unlockable in the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC release of the game. It was first identified there as "Kashyyyk trooper" and could be unlocked by entering the code "TK421GREEN".
The Kashyyyk troopers were featured in the 2008 video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. They were shown in the opening scene/prologue to the story, where the player controls Darth Vader. However these troopers only appear in the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC version of the game. In the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Wii version of the game the troopers are replaced by stormtroopers with blue 501st Legion markings. These troopers also wore pieces of clone trooper armor with modified visors on their helmets, though it is not known if they are Kashyyyk troopers as they were credited simply as the "501st Legion".
