A Khan was a military rank within the Kaleesh military structure known as the Kolkpravis. At anyone time there was only ever eight Khans each of whom directly served the supreme Kaleesh military commander known as the Khagan, collectively they were known as the Izvoshra. Each Khan's khanate consisted of several brigades each lead by a Baatar to whom the Khan's usually left most of the control of the army as they personally were too busy carrying out special missions for the Khagan.
