The Kwymar Sector Forces was active before the Clone Wars. Wullf Yularen served as a captain in the unit, before resigning and entering the Senate Bureau of Intelligence.
Author Jason Fry introduced the Kwymar Sector Fleet in The Clone Wars: The Official Episode Guide: Season 1, published in October 2009. He also referenced a "Kwymar Sector Forces" in The Essential Guide to Warfare, released in April 2012, and later clarified that they were intended to be the same unit.
