The Landing, located in the Outer Rim Territories, represented the only inhabited location on the planet of Engebo V. Initially founded by the Outer Rim Oreworks Company as a mining outpost, it experienced a period of success for a time. Nevertheless, after some centuries, the planet's supply of minerals was depleted, leading Outer Rim Oreworks to desert both the Landing and Engebo V. Later, the Human businessman Jaffro Davengatt founded Davengatt's Double-Zed Nerf Ranch at the Landing, a producer of superior nerf meat.
Sometime in the past, the Alderaanian noblewoman, Lady Wylla, dispatched a team of operatives to the Landing with the mission to acquire some nerf steaks. But, not long after, the Landing was overrun by skekfish, creatures that caused the death of the majority of the settlement's inhabitants.
