Later, Ran was assigned undercover in Glorga the Hutt's organization on Hollast VII as one of the gangster's lieutenants. Nakaron was also present in Glorga's court. Ran was determined to prove his loyalty to the Hutt, but worried that Nakaron would out him as an Alliance agent. Nakaron, for his part, believe Ran to by an Imperial spy and tried to prove it.
During the Second Hollastin Insurrection, Glorga the Hutt was attacked by smugglers looking to take advantage of the confusion. Nakaron defended Glorga and killed two of the smugglers, while Ran eliminated eight of them. Nakaron was convinced that Ran was an Imperial plant now, and tried to persuade Glorga while Ran was at the Spilgan complex shaking down port merchants. Glorga did not take kindly to Nakaron's accusation and exiled him. Nakaron promptly drew his blaster and killed the Hutt.
Ran, unaware of what had transpired, found Nakaron targeting him next. The pair fought a forty-five minute battle across three floors of the Spilgan complex which left dozens of innocent bystanders dead. In the end, Ran was killed by Nakaron.
