By the time of the Cold War, between the Sith Empire and Galactic Republic, the sanctity of the site had been desecrated by the crime lord Diago Hixan who claimed it as the seat of his criminal empire. Under his control, he filled the Lightspring cavern with numerous trinkets and baubles from his collection that turned this once pristine landmark into his own personal junkyard.
The search for Nok Drayen's treasure led a smuggler captain to Hixan's retreat in search for an artifact, with the ensuing confrontation leading to the crime lord's death.
