Loedorvia was a terrestrial astronomical object located in the Loedorvia system of the Core Worlds' Weemell sector.
During the Clone Wars, it was situated within the borders of the Galactic Republic. Around 20.2 BBY, Loedorvia was the site of a battle between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During that confrontation, Confederate General Grievous ordered the release of the airborne hive virus disease known as the Brainrot Plague on Loedorvia.
The disease, also known as the Loedorvian Brain Plague, was unleashed from Grievous's flagship, the Providence-class carrier/destroyer Invisible Hand, and the act killed tens of thousands of individuals in a single stroke. Before an antidote could be discovered, the resulting outbreak of the disease exterminated all of the Republic's clone trooper forces—as well as nearly every Human—in the Weemell sector. The sector was also rendered temporarily uninhabitable as a result. The Loedorvian outbreak terrified the inhabitants of the Core Worlds and led to Republic scientists stepping up their efforts to catalogue known viruses and research potential corresponding antidotes.
Loedorvia was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square K-12. In two instances in the book, the celestial body's name is misspelled as "Loerdovia."
