In an interview on episode 56 of comedian Matt Gourley's podcast "I Was There Too", Ben Acker and Ben Blacker revealed that Lund Gourley was named after their friend Gourley and then fiancee, Amanda Lund. Acker and Blacker originally called the settlement "Mos Gourley" in their draft, but were told by the Lucasfilm Story Group that canonically "Mos" is only used as a prefix for settlements on Tatooine.
