The lyuna was a quadrupedal creature possessing long necks, two tall, spiked humps on their backs, hooves, and a tail. They were known for being stubborn but hardworking. Lyuna were found on Loreth, an astronomical object on the Galactic Frontier, and were used all across the frontier. The creatures could be used as riding mounts with a saddle placed between the two humps, or to pull carts.
Lyuna were used by the settlers of Wyke Town, a colony on Loreth founded by Layton Wyke during the High Republic Era. After a Gretalax from the nearby Temple Peak mountain attacked the town, Wyke hired the monster hunter Ty Yorrick to handle the creature. Yorrick accepted the job, ascending Temple Peak on a lyuna provided by the town's residents.
On Dalna, lyuna were harnessed to pull carts, which could carry passengers or cargo. The Path of the Open Hand used the animals for both purposes, keeping them in a barn and feeding them straw.
