A scientist and researcher, Mali Errat was an ancient Galacian of Gala. When Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn were dispatched to Gala to mediate over the election of Queen Veda's successor, Kenobi enlisted Errat's help in determining if the Queen was being poisoned. Errat tested food served in the palace and determined that the Queen was poisoned by dimilatis, an herb that grows in sea plains of Gala and had an antidote manufactured.
