The Md-12 missile defense satellite was an armed space platform developed by the Corporate Sector Authority for the defense of orbital installations and space stations.
The Md-12 was equipped with twin missile pods and internal magazines that fired large volleys of concussion missiles at a target. The missiles were moderately powerful and well-suited for attacking frigates or fighters due to the fact that they could easily penetrate energy shields.
The missile platform was designed for construction on a pre-developed, multi-purpose satellite base, similar to the the Ld-12 laser defense satellite platform.
