Fonox worked in the hangar of the Jedi Temple and was responsible for maintaining the ships and droids. She led Obi-Wan Kenobi to a T-5 shuttle and walked him through the preflight before his trip to a forgotten planet. The mechanic introduced the padawan to the astromech droid A6-G2 who would be accompanying him. The Ortolan was amused when Kenobi politely greeted the droid.
As Kenobi waited to depart, he inquired on the status of Count Dooku's ship, who had been visiting the Temple. Fonox informed him that it had left the previous night and that she was unware if Dooku had taken any passengers with him. She was present when Kenobi returned to the Temple but was too busy to notice the damage the shuttle had sustained.
Fonox rode on a hovering personal craft to move around. This let her use her dexterous feet to work on ships.
