Mid-Year Fete

The Mid-Year Fete was a competition held annually at the Coruscant Jedi Temple during the reign of the Galactic Republic.

The competition was held every year. In it, Jedi Masters who had earned the title of Blademaster would duel each other using Form II of lightsaber combat, Makashi. Before the tournament, the participants would raise their blade in the traditional Makashi flourish and salute. Afterwords, the duels would continue until all challengers had either been defeated or had conceded.

The duels were known to have been recorded in The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force. This shows that they were practiced around the time of the Ruusan Reformations in 1000 BBY. At that time, the duels were run in the exterior courtyard at the Jedi Temple.
