Supreme Chancellor Palpatine re-established the ministry during the height of the Clone Wars to protect the lives of senators as well as other government officials. The Ministry converted several holding facilities into safehouses for its purposes. It denied the destruction of one of its facilities despite the destruction of the safehouse where Lavina Wren was located, which was the result of foul play. This caused many to question the ministry's activities and its true nature.
