Mittik was a female Katikoot. The daughter of Kittik, the of the species' , and the cousin of Rillik, Mittik teamed up with Jedi Master Silandra Sho's Pathfinder team to investigate the disappearance of another Republic Pathfinder expedition on Gloam, the twin planet of Aubadas, the home of the Katikoot.
As a young girl, Mittik would sit on the edge of the gully leading to Diurna and look at the planet Gloam in the sky. She noticed as she got older the planet did not gleam as much due to the accumulating polution from mining and it saddened her.
Mittik was present with a group of Katikoot who were observing Silandra Sho's Pathfinder team who had just landed on Aubadas. When Sho's padawan Rooper Nitani confronted Brithik, Mittik intervened as she could speak Galactic Basic. She explained to the Jedi that Rok Buran's team had been on Aubadas with hopes of assisting the Katikoot with their power problem, but failed to live up to their promises. She requested the off-worlders leave the planet but Nitani was able to convince her to give the Republic another chance. Mittik led the two Jedi to the underground city of Diurna. As they walked, the padawan asked the Katikoot if her species could fly. Mittik extended her wings, showing that they were vestigial and the species was grounded. As she escorted the Jedi to the chambers of the Grand Council, she explained the environment of the city and what great cost it was achieved with. Once inside the chambers, Mittik introduced the two Jedi to her father Kittik, who was the minister of works, and to her cousin Rillik.
Mittik listened as her father told the Jedi about the history of Aubadas and Gloam. She expressed frustration that the war between Eiram and E'ronoh was causing problems in the sector and told the Jedi about Rok Buran's mission to Gloam to investigate rumors of monsters on the planet. After Sho decided to travel to Gloam to see if there was any sign of Buran, Mittik accompanied the team. During the descent to the surface, she attempted to calm Rillik who was becoming hysterical due to the turbulence. He collapsed and Mittik aided him, explaining to the rest of the team that he suffered from the miner's curse which was an illness that affected workers from Gloam. Once he was tended to, Mittik and the rest of the group talked about the layout of Gloam and what their plan should be. Nitani felt a pull through the Force of someone reaching out for help. She tried to convince the others that they had to go look for them. Mittik explained that the Katikoot had a similar philosophy to the all-encompassing Force and supported the padawan's decision. She agreed to accompany Dietrix Jago to the ancient city while the Jedi searched for the survivor. On the way to the city, Jago's comlink picked up a wide-spectrum distress call that Mittik suggested could belong to an improvised beacon created by survivors and the two decided to follow the signal to its source.
The pair discovered a campsite and Mittik noticed a boy and his father watching them. She realized that they were afraid of her due to her resemblance to the Gloam monsters. The Katikoot realized that the old legends of her people becoming twisted and misshapened were true. She joined the Leffbruks in a meal while they explained how they ended up stranded on Gloam. The group pressed on towards the ancient city to look for any other survivors. After entering the city, the group made their way toward the center and discovered a bunch of old tapestries. Mittik was astounded to find out they depicted ancient Katikoot flying around the city. She realized the history she knew of her people was wrong and that her species had originated on Gloam but later migrated to Aubadas when the living materials began to transform the Katikoot into monsters.
Mittik and the others made their way to the central chamber where they discovered a large shaft that led to the mines. They started to descend only to be attacked by a large group of monsters. They retreated to a small alcove where Mittik took over for Jago, who was injured while providing defensive fire and trying to drive off the attacking creatures. When the Jedi arrived, Mittik and the others fled from the city back to the Umberfall which got them safely back to Aubadas.
Mittik returned to Gloam where she lead the recovery efforts to get three mining containers that held enough raw material to power Aubadas until a Republic team could arrive and install a solar power system.
