Discovered during the Great Manifest Period of the Galactic Republic, the planet was located in Republic-controlled space throughout the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During this time, the region was patrolled by the 2nd Sector Army of the Grand Army of the Republic.
Following the end of the war, Motexx became a planet of the Galactic Empire. During Imperial reign, the Koqus liner Star Morning, fully loaded with passengers, left Motexx for Gowdawl, but never arrived. A year after the battle over the forest moon of Endor, the ship reappeared two sectors away, over Arat Fraca. After visiting several colony worlds, the ship returned to Motexx and headed to Vulvarch.
