NL-1

History

XQ1 Platform NL-1 was constructed by then Vice Admiral Thrawn in 3 ABY to help bring order to the Pakuuni system. The construction project was overseen by Commander Maloc.

Before the base was constructed, Thrawn had discovered that the area was abandoned due to possible Rebel attacks. After collecting important cargo, Thrawn drove off a Rebel attack consisting of Y-wings and the CR90 corvette Dragon. Later, an outpost of the Pakuuni Pirates was discovered. The outpost consisted of several different kinds of containers and three CR90 corvettes, Leach, Clavier and Grapler. The outpost had to be destroyed so that NL-1 could be built in its place.

Shortly after construction, NL-1 came under attack three times by pirate and Rebel Alliance forces, but their attempts were thwarted by the efforts of Maarek Stele and his wingmates.

The first attack from the Rebels consisted of the Modified Corvette groups Moori and Runeer, RZ-1 A-wing interceptors, BTL Y-wing starfighters, T-65 X-wing starfighters and three Delta-class DX-9 stormtrooper transports. This attack was repelled with heavy losses to the Rebels, including the capture of a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle carrying officers.

Another attack took place during Vice Admiral Thrawn's personal inspection of the Station. It was at this time that Thrawn first took notice of Maarek Stele, when Stele's TIE/sa bomber acted as escort for Thrawn's transports to and from the VSD Stalwart. Stele impressed Thrawn by using the bomber defensively to beat back A-wings, X-Wings, Y-wings and three waves of Lambda-class shuttles, despite the fact that TIE Bombers were not designed for defense.

After final completion and receiving the IPV-1 Patrol Craft group Ranger, the Rebels had made one final, desperate attack consisting of B-wings, A-wings, X-wings, 4 Assault Transports and 3 Stormtrooper Transports. This attack was also thwarted by Maarek Stele.

Behind the scenes

NL-1 during its construction is portrayed as an XQ3 Platform, but upon completion is portrayed as an XQ1 Platform.
