The Nat'xikta were a Fefze swarm that resided on the planet Brolsam in the Kathol sector of the Outer Rim Territories. A wealthy swarm, they supported the Imperial rulers of the world by spying for them. As a result, they accrued both power and status. They continued this arrangement when the planet came under the authority of a self-proclaimed warlord, Moff Kentor Sarne, who had withdrawn the sector from the Empire following the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY following the death of Emperor Palpatine and the breakdown of Imperial authority.
In 8 ABY, in the wake of the New Republic's liberation of the sector capital, Kal'Shebbol, Brolsam's disgruntled Human and Rodian populations—along with a sizeable number of Fefze who were not affiliated with the Nat'xikta—began imprisoning Imperial officials and sympathizers. Imperial forces responded by resorting to guerrilla warfare, placing the planet on the edge of civil war. The Nat'xikta, afraid of losing the influence they wielded on the planet, hired Rodian mercenaries to free the incarcerated Imperials and return them to power. To achieve their goal, the Nat'xikta were prepared to sacrifice hundreds of Fefze.
The Nat'xikta's plans were foiled by the crew of the FarStar, a New Republic CR90 corvette that was visiting the planet searching for information regarding the whereabouts of Moff Sarne, who had fled Kal'Shebbol during the New Republic's assault on the planet.
The Nat'xikta were a small swarm, with hundreds of individual Fefze contributing to the whole. The swarm was wealthy and had attained power by supporting the Imperial regime on Brolsam. Despite being comprised of hundreds of Fefze, the Nat'xikta operated as a group hive mind.
The Nat'xikta are featured in The DarkStryder Campaign, a supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games. Although not featured directly in any adventure, the swarm are included in a specific "adventure hook" detailed in the scenario Omens. This article assumes that the FarStar did indeed travel to Brolsam and interact with the Nat'xikta as detailed in the published adventure hook.
