When the underground caverns flooded, the Kessarine were still living in the nesting chamber. Fel Ix escaped to the surface, but his partners and children were trapped in the cell until Marda Ro and Kevmo Zink helped rescue them. The cell was fully repaired after the flood had subsided, and the Kessarine family moved back in. When the Mother unleashed the Leveler on Zink and his master Zallah Macri, Zink did not initially die but made his way to the nesting chamber, where he died in Ro's arms. Azlin Rell later found Zink's remains in the chamber.
