Nickel One was a large asteroid in the Roche asteroid belt and the capital of the Roche system, home of the Verpine species.
Following the end of the Yuuzhan Vong War, Nickel One became the adopted homeworld for the Verpine. There, they maintained their primary munitions factories.
During the Swarm War, Nickel One was attacked by a convoy of Killik vessels, though Jedi Masters Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade Skywalker, along with Jedi Knight Jacen Solo, were able to repulse the invaders.
Near the end of the Second Galactic Civil War, Nickel One was attacked by the Imperial Remnant faction loyal to Darth Caedus, and was defended by Mandalorians, who had established a base on the asteroid after an agreement with the Verpine.
