Nightside was positioned in geostationary orbit within the rings of Therezar, intersecting the rings.
The station's main body was composed of two identical cubes, connected by a large skeletal structure where the captured material from the rings was mined and reduced into its base elements. A spider's web of cables connected the central structure to its surrounding substations, with cable cars running between them all.
The station operated as its own city-state, and contained a large city-like complex within it that contained housing, shops, and restaurants for its workers.
In 21 ABY, the station was attacked in a raid by the Droid Crush Pirates of Bestoon, seeking to capture the rogue Strand-Cast Dathan and his family at the command of Ochi of Bestoon. However the droids largely ignored Ochi's directive and prioritized raiding the station instead. But all of the Droid Crush was defeated and destroyed by Zargo Anaximander's security droids he had stationed throughout the station.
Nightside appeared in the 2022 novel Shadow of the Sith by Adam Christopher.
