Omega Signal

Omega Signal was a code that the Alliance to Restore the Republic's military forces used as an order to all personnel to break contact with enemy forces and retreat. Alliance personnel designated as had the authority to issue the evacuation order, which had its own code. In the instance of the Battle of Hoth, the code was "K-one-zero, all troops disengage."

Omega Signal was also used by small-unit commanders in the field for the same purpose. Leaders of such units as starfighter squadrons could use the command to order an immediate withdrawal of their command, or to alert them to an ambush or that their cover had been blown.
