The size of a locket, the View masker was a voice coded and voice activated device that created a localized distortion field several meters in diameter around the wearer. When activated, the field rendered visual and audio scanning with sensors or recording devices absolutely useless. Additionally, the field created a "visual static" around the wearer, which made even casual observation with the naked eye impossible.
View maskers were typically used by diplomats and politicians, or others who were security conscious, and were commercially available for 2,500 credits.
