In 32 BBY, Padmé Amidala started a journal in order to put her thoughts into writing and help her solve the crisis raging on her homeworld of Naboo. That journal covered the events of the conflict from the blockade by the Trade Federation to the Nabooian victory both on ground and in space. It ended with a description of the celebrations that followed the victory, with Amidala musing on fate and destiny. The journal also documented Amidala's first meeting with her friend Obi-Wan Kenobi and with Anakin Skywalker, her future husband and murderer.
The 1999 novel Star Wars Episode I Journal: Queen Amidala was written by Jude Watson from an in-universe perspective, from the point of view of Amidala.
