A mausoleum served as the ultimate resting place for Padmé Amidala, who was formerly the Queen and subsequently the Senator representing the planet of Naboo. She passed away in 19 BBY. Despite Naboo tradition dictating cremation for the deceased, Amidala's body was placed inside a rectangular sarcophagus. This sarcophagus featured the stylized emblem of Naboo as decoration, and a stained-colored window with a gentle hue displayed her likeness. Columns flanked the sarcophagus, each supporting a stone container filled with red flowers. After becoming the armored Darth Vader, Amidala's husband, the former Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, visited this mausoleum. He was overwhelmed with sorrow and regret regarding his role in her demise.
The first visual depiction of Padmé Amidala's mausoleum appeared on a trading card. This card was part of the 2012 Topps Star Wars Galaxy Series 7 collection, which Topps launched in February of 2012. Erik Maell, an American artist, created the illustration for the card, which was named "Mourning for Padmé."
