Many of the members wanted to end the fighting for moral reasons, but some had an ideological opposition to the wartime powers granted to the Confederacy's Head of State Count Dooku, as they believed that it made the Confederacy no better than the Galactic Republic. Others opposed the Confederacy's war taxes or feared the dangers posed by the war to interstellar shipping.
