Safonne Pendon commanded a pirate band that operated during the Galactic Civil War and early years of the New Republic. Pendon commanded a fleet of starships including two heavily-modified light freighters, a pair of DP20 frigates, a GAT-12 Skipray Blastboat, and his command ship, the CR90 corvette Safonne's Sword. He commanded over two hundred parents of varying species, including the Ithorian Venithon Twins. Pendon's base was located in the northern polar region of the planet Seltaya Major in the Mieru'kar sector.
In 7 ABY, Pendon's pirates began attacking New Republic ships, effectively stopping resupply efforts in the Borderland Regions.
