Continuing with this plan, Kaan learned of a between the Ithorian Charn Roondha and the Gran Ree-Yees. Kaan discovered that Yees wanted to rise through the ranks of Jabba's criminal empire and move from caring for Jabba's frog-dog Buboicullaar, to take the position that Roondha held, a collector of a taxes and protection money from various worlds on the Outer Rim Territories. In order to exploit this rivalry, Kaan called in his second favor from Eightyem, to act as translator for him as the Twi'lek informed Roondha of what he had discovered about Yees. Kaan's plan worked, and the Ithorian confronted the Gran, and as he held Yees in a choke hold, Kaan manipulated Jabba into stopping Roondha from killing Yees, as he informed Jabba would make Jabba look weak if one of his employees was to kill another in his throne room. The Hutt immediately called for Yees' life to be spared, and whilst he was not pleased with the order, Roondha stated that he respected it and let the Gran go. Afterwards, Roondha asked why Jabba's faith in him had been lost, to which Kaan told Eightyem to inform the Ithorian that the credits he had been bringing in had fallen off, a point which Roondha disagreed with. Kaan then manipulated the situation, and ordered the droid to inform Roondha of a rumor that Jabba planned to take Roondha's action on Mandalore and give it to Yees. The Ithorian grew desperate and asked if there was a way to prevent that from happening. Kaan suggested something could be done if Jabba was no longer a factor, to which Roondha responded with a question of what would happen if Jabba was removed from his throne. The Twi'lek then stated that whoever was capable of such a bold move, they would be feared and respected, but that he would need an ally who good at diplomacy to deal with the issues that arose from the rest of the Hutts.
Following this, Eightyem and Kaan spoke outside the palace about a way for Roondha to kill Jabba without himself being killed first. Eightyem stated that Kaan had been saying the Ithorian would need a blaster, which the Twi'lek agreed would be ideal. He then added that only Jabba's guards, and those in his favor were permitted to have weapons inside the palace, which Eightyem stated Roondha was neither of. Kaan then said that someone in the Hutt's inner circle, his translator for example, referring to Eightyem, would have to access the armory instead and collect the weapon for Roondha. Eightyem then realized that this was the third favor Kaan had spoke of before, and carried it out. He went into the armory and acquired a WESTAR-35 blaster pistol. As he left the armory, the bounty hunter Bane Malar, who had bee watching, approached the droid and asked to speak with him. The hunter accused the droid of being upto something with Kaan, though he did not know specifically what yet, but he intended to find out. Eightyem returned to Kaan and told him of what Malar had said. Kaan called the hunter's bluff, and reminded the droid that he was the only one who offered the droid freedom from Jabba, and threatened that the droid would not be taken serious over Kaan if he tried to curry favor with Jabba. Eightyem knew the Twi'lek was right, and continued. Kaan gave the blaster to Roondha, and sometime later he tried to use it to kill Jabba. The effort failed as Malar thwarted it, and when Jabba's majordomo Bib Fortuna noted that the Ithorian would have need a co-conspirator to get the weapon inside as he was not cleared to have one, Kaan tried to call in a fourth favor from Eightyem. The droid informed he had only asked for three, but the Twi'lek responded that it was as much a favor for him as it was for Kaan.
Sometime later, Roondha was brought before Jabba about his attempt to kill him. Jabba gave his word to Roondha that he would die swiftly if he provided the name of who had given him the blaster. After Roondha replied that it was Kaan, Eightyem deliberately mistranslated it to Jabba, saying that the Ithorian had said he would rather die horribly than betray his accompliance. Roondha then stated it was the droid, but again Eightyem mistranslated to Jabba, this time stating he had said something unkind about Jabba's mother. With this, Roondha was taken to the Great Pit of Carkoon and fed to the sarlacc. After the Ithorian was eaten by the sarlacc, Malar approached Kaan and stated it would be a shame if someone had to accompany Roondha in the sarlacc as he was digested over a thousand years. After the party returned to the palace, Kaan carried through on his promise of setting Eightyem free and removed his restraining bolt, but they were caught by Malar, revealing that he had a hologram of Eightyem with the blaster given to Roondha. Kaan was sure that it only incriminated the droid, and after he was brought before Jabba, the Hutt informed him that Eightyem had told him all about Kaan's deceit. With Kaan exposed, he was taken away by guards to be eaten by the sarlacc. Eightyem thanked Jabba for seeing through Kaan's deceptions and that he had been threatened with horrors by the Twi'lek. When Jabba asked what horrors he had been threatened with, Malar provided the Hutt with the taken off restraining bolt. Jabba asked Eightyem if the horrors included removing his restraining bolt, to which the droid stated he could explain. The Hutt dismissed Eightyem's words, and informed the droid that he would not be sent to the sarlacc as it would not be able to eat a droid, and questioned what should be done instead. Eightyem was disintergrated.
