The Praetor II-class ship was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the 2018 Fantasy Flight Games Star Wars Roleplaying sourcebook Fully Operational. It previously appeared in Star Wars Legends, debuting in the 1982 comic book Star Wars (1977) 60 by David Michelinie and Walter Simonson. It was later identified as Praetor Mark II-class battlecruiser in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart.
