The Predori were a rogue empire that opposed the Galactic Republic millennia before the Galactic Civil War. They were technologically advanced, constructing starships able to withstand the intense force of a gravity well. One such design was the prison ship Ashmead's Lock, later used by the Galactic Empire as a prison on the planet Kashyyyk.
