Prefect was a rank held by a Coruscant law enforcement official who was charged by the Galactic Empire with controlling crime in a particular sector of the planet. Phoca Soot served as the prefect of Level 1331, but five years after the formation of the Empire he was executed by the Sith Lord Darth Vader for being on the payroll of the Droid Gotra, allies of the Crymorah Syndicate.
