Project Nebula was a former Republic operation of weapons development abandoned when the Empire took the planet Balmorra, where it was being developed and funded by General Var Suthra after the Treaty of Coruscant. The Sith Empire then took over the project intending on using the prototype weaponry against the Republic. In 3642 BBY, the smuggler known as Voidhound, was assigned to disrupt Project Nebula before the Empire could use it to harm the Republic.
