The Nihil pirate organization led a raid in the Abrion sector during the High Republic Era. The Tycoon Trader, a cargo cruiser, had been shipping glitterstim from Aaloth to the Hutt Cartel. An informer within the Hutt Cartel informed Dowutin Tempest Runner Pan Eyta of a stim shipment in the sector, so he sent his Tempest to raid the ship.
The Nihil pulled the Trader out of hyperspace with a gravity mine, punctured the hull with gas torpedoes, and boarded the ship with a boarding tube. The Nihil's masks protected the marauders from the war cloud they had released. The Trader was protected by the mercenary Lourna Dee, who set up automated defenses aboard the ship to combat the Nihil, and sacrificed the pilot droid RL-18 as part of her counter-ambush.
The Storm Jinnix dispatched a boarding party of his including the Nikto Towl and an individual named Blackwing, both of whom Dee killed. The droid H7-09 was damaged in the skirmish. Jinnix went to confront Dee, but she defeated him by ripping out one of his fangs and stabbing him with it.
Lourna thought she had won, but Pan Eyta came and took her prisoner. She cut a deal with him to join the Nihil and help conduct a raid on Aaloth. As payment, Lourna joined the Nihil and took possession of Jinnix's former ship, the Toothspike, renaming it the Lourna Dee.
