Rakatan Archipelago

All of the planets were inhabited by the descendants of the Rakata who had fled Lehon just before the fall of the Infinite Empire in 25,200 BBY. The Rakata took several pieces of technology along with many of their slaves and wildlife as they fled Lehon and relocated to the Rakatan Archipelago. Eventually these colonists became the very last of the Rakatan species as they had gone extinct on Lehon.

Within some worlds in the Rakatan Archipelago, priests and warrior classes united to wield the wondrous inventions of their ancestors. Among these enlightened worlds, the day-to-day bloodshed was lessened as the urge to reclaim their lost glories was powerful. At least two enlightened tribes were advanced enough to rediscover space flight and begin construction on small space stations similar to the Star Forge and they both competed against each other for resources and technology.

On other worlds, the schism between the two classes led to open conflict, with the warring factions using weapons they barely understood that left the landscape pitted and glowing with radioactivity. Among these were barbarous tribes that believed their worlds represented all of creation and made war against other native species.

The other powers of the Unknown Regions were largely unaware and ignorant of the threat of these Rakata, though the Rakata themselves would avoid the Vagaari when possible.
