Red Squadron was a starfighter squadron that served the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars against the Separatist Alliance and participated in the Second Battle of Geonosis, providing reinforcements to Republic forces on Point Rain.
Red Squadron was a bomber squadron that served in the Republic Starfighter Corps. As such, it utilized at least twelve BTL-B Y-wing starfighter/bombers with red markings to denote the unit affiliation.

Red Squadron served within the Starfighter Corps of the Republic Navy, and participated in the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Separatist Alliance, taking part in the Second Battle of Geonosis in 21 BBY. During the battle on Geonosis, Red Squadron provided critical air cover for LAAT/i gunships that were deployed to secure the ground area, with several of its BTL Y-wing starfighters flying near artillery and Separatist core ships.
Red Squadron was launched prior to the LAAT/i gunships and LAAT carriers from a Republic fleet, and after the first wave of landing craft carrying the 7th Sky Corps encountered Geonosian anti-air artillery, a contingent of Red Squadron's bombers attacked an area of J-1 proton cannons, destroying them.

After two more waves of landing craft descended on the surface carrying the 501st Legion and a battalion under Clone Commander Jet, the Y-wings of Red Squadron were embroiled in air combat near the Republic fleet fighting against Geonosian Nantex-class fighters. With all Republic ground forces separated, Commander Jet contacted Admiral Wullf Yularen for air reinforcements, only for Yularen to state that no resources were available. After the transmission, Yularen ordered a clone navigation officer to get every starfighter he could scrape up.
With Jet's battalion linking up with the 501st Legion and the 7th Sky Corps in danger of being overrun, Jedi General Anakin Skywalker contacted Admiral Yularen that they needed starfighter reinforcements. Yularen then informed Skywalker that he there was luck, as he had one squadron available. As the Point Rain landing area held by the 7th Sky Corps was at its breaking point, an ARF trooper spotted Red Squadron and informed his comrades that reinforcements had arrived. Subsequently, Red Squadron flew close to the ground and flew over the staging area, bombing and destroying the inbound Separatist forces as the remaining ground forces arrived at Point Rain. With the entirety of ground units together, they launched their attack on the primary droid foundry's ray shield generator.
Red Squadron debuted, albeit unnamed, in "Landing at Point Rain," the fifth episode of the second season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars that was released in 2009. It was subsequently identified in the BTL-B Y-Wing Expansion Pack from the Star Wars: X-Wing Second Edition miniatures game by Fantasy Flight Games in the card "Red Squadron Bomber," which was released in 2019.
