The regent's quarters of the Pijali monarchy were located in the Pijali palace on the Inner Rim planet Pijal, one corridor away from the Pijali Princess Fanry's royal chamber. Though originally beautifully appointed, most parts of the space were altered by Jedi Lord Regent Rael Averross during his stay to be less extravagant. In 40 BBY, Averross spent the night in the regent's quarters with Selbie, a local hostess.
As a part of the Pijali palace on the Inner Rim planet Pijal, the regent's quarters were beautifully appointed, including a bed, an entryway, several chairs, and a fireplace. The space was located one corridor away from the palace's royal chamber, and was designated by the Pijali monarchy as rooms for the serving regent of the planet. By 40 BBY, the ceiling of the quarters remained richly ornamented, despite alterations to make most other parts of the rooms less extravagant.
At some point between 48 BBY and 40 BBY, the Jedi lord regent Rael Averross moved into the regent's quarters during his mission to Pijal to serve as their lord regent. He altered most parts of the space to be more comfortable over time, including changing out the chairs and leaving his posessions strewn in piles. In 40 BBY, Averross spent the night in the quarters with Selbie, a local hostess with whom he had a casual relationship.
Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, who was on Pijal for a mission, visited the rooms to speak to the regent about a violent vision. His entrance interrupted Averross and the Selbie's time together, resulting in the hostess quickly departing from the palace. The Jedi pair briefly argued about the Jedi Code's rulings on attachment, and afterward, discussed the Jedi Master's vision. Averross reassured Jinn that he must be stressed from the mission's demands on Pijal, and that his issues with the latter's Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, would resolve. Shortly after, they heard the Pijali Princess Fanry begin to scream from the royal chamber she resided in and ran out of the rooms together to assist her. Several days later, after the princess' unsuccessful coronation, Averross continued to live in the regent's quarters for a short time as he prepared to depart Pijal.
The regent's quarters appeared in Master & Apprentice, a 2019 novel written by Claudia Gray. In an interview, Gray indicated that she included the scene with Jinn interrupting Averross and Selbie's time in the quarters to highlight different Jedi's stances on the permissibility of casual physical relationships.
