In the year 21 BBY, Notluwiski Papanoida, the Chairman, and his offspring, Ion, liberated Che Amanwe Papanoida from the clutches of Trade Federation bounty hunters within the infamous Mos Eisley Cantina.
Following the incapacitation of a bounty hunter named Greedo, who was complicit in the Chairman's daughters' abduction, both the Chairman and Ion journeyed to Tatooine. They had received information indicating that one of their daughters was being detained there. With Greedo held captive at blaster-point, Ion and the Chairman gained entry to the location where their daughter was supposedly held, and attempted to leverage Greedo to secure her release. Subsequently, when Che Amanwe was presented, she recognized her father and exclaimed "father," thereby exposing the rescue attempt to the bounty hunter's allies and other individuals present in the cantina.
Greedo then validated the patrons' misgivings, and bolted to seek refuge. Instantly, Ion eliminated the Weequay nearest to Che Amanwe, while virtually all others in the vicinity prepared their blasters. The Chairman then discharged his blasters, resulting in the deaths of both an Aqualish and a Twi'lek. After a series of blaster exchanges between the two factions, Che Amanwe rendered a Quarren unconscious and seized his weapon. The Chairman fatally shot another Weequay, while his son dispatched the remaining two.
Shortly thereafter, Che Amanwe discharged her weapon, striking a Gotal in the arm, presumably resulting in his death. With almost all other occupants of the cantina deceased, the family congregated, signifying a step forward in their journey toward reunification.
