In 230 BBY, Tarpfen had a dream that placed her back on her homeworld of the planet Mon Cala. In the dream, she appeared in an anteroom in front of her former lover Shenrick and was addressed by her name, followed by her parents'. Tarpfen was shortly kidnapped by the Nihil pirates after they had failed to blackmail her. Escaping from her restraints, she took over the Nihil starship and sent a message back to the Galactic Republic warning of Nihil spies in their rank.
