Prior to General Grievous's arrival on Naboo, Dooku went to Naboo where he made a deal with Gungan Minister Rish Loo. Dooku promised him that in exchange for the Gungan Grand Army's support, Loo would be very influential in his new order. However, Loo's plan failed when Republic Representative Jar Jar Binks foiled his plans and Grievous was captured.
Despite this setback, Darth Sidious ordered Dooku to make prisoner exchange by using Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker to retrieve Grievous. Thus Dooku ordered Loo to lead Skywalker to his lab. Loo was able to lead Skywalker into his lab. However, Dooku, seeing Loo as fool, killed him for his failure. Skywalker fought Dooku and his IG-100 MagnaGuards until he was subdued by him, also destroying the lab's Illumi-droids in the process. Dooku then contacted Senator Amidala to arrange a prisoner exchange for General Grievous.
