Captain Sandrex Olotho functioned as an intelligence operative for Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin, operating within the command structure of Admiral Inos Fonada. Later, she continued her service under Fonada after he rose to the position of warlord.
Olotho's espionage activities commenced before the Battle of Yavin. Following Tarkin's demise on the first Death Star, she stayed with Fonada, ultimately becoming his adjutant. After the Battle of Endor, when Fonada transitioned into a warlord, the capable Olotho became the admiral's primary source of information and reconnaissance during combat operations.
A notable event in her history involved a situation where, while deployed, a portion of Fonada's troops switched allegiance to the New Republic. Gathering the few remaining loyal soldiers, she established a fortified position and formulated a plan for retreat. By seizing several leathery-winged deshfinops, covering them in a resin that burned slowly, and then releasing them, she caused disarray within the ranks of the defectors and ignited fires in their camp. The resulting chaos enabled Olotho and her loyalists to breach the enemy's formation and flee, even managing to capture several soldiers of the New Republic during their escape.
