The security collar consisted of an adjustable durasteel neck restraint connected to a heavy chain. The brace was secured by a magnolock, and incorporated shock panels into the interior of the ring. The collars were designed to be escape-proof and resistant to tampering; attempting to remove them without inputting the proper triggered the shock panels to deliver a painful neural shock that were potentially lethal. Some variants of the collar had biometric or voice-activated locks. They could be attached to other collars or a pair of stun cuffs.
Jabba Desilijic Tiure used these kinds of collars to restrain his enslaved dancers and keep them within easy reach. Princess Leia Organa was forced to wear one of these collars during the time that she was captured by Jabba during her part in the mission to rescue Han Solo.
